Theoretical and practical courses for cooks

Through an ongoing series of both theoretical and practical training sessions, the SFCW Agency elevates school cooks to become true culinary experts. These comprehensive training programs imbue cooks with essential knowledge on a variety of critical topics, including food safety, hygiene standards, healthy cooking techniques, appropriate food portions, and the nutritional needs of children, among others.

Prior to transitioning the regional schools to the funding jurisdiction of the Republic of Armenia (RA) government, the SFCW Agency organizes training courses for the culinary staff of all schools within the region. Currently, the focus is on the chefs from the Kotayk and Armavir provinces. Since 2022, there has also been an initiative to refresh and update the knowledge of chefs from provinces that were previously covered under the National component of the program.

The training regimen for chefs is not limited to theoretical instruction; it also encompasses practical sessions that allow them to apply their newly acquired knowledge in a real-world setting. These hands-on experiences are conducted under the guidance of experienced professionals, providing chefs with a unique opportunity to refine their skills through practice. This holistic approach to training ensures that chefs are well-prepared to contribute to the health and wellbeing of schoolchildren through the provision of nutritious and safely prepared meals.
